Effect of Spiritual Care on Death Anxiety and Self-esteem in Patients With Multiple Sclerosis

Introduction: Death anxiety and low self-esteem are major problems in patients with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Spiritual interventions, along other nursing can restore the balance between body soul. Objective: This study aimed to determine effect of spiritual care program on death MS patients. Materials Methods: In this clinical trial, 60 were randomly assigned into intervention (n=30) control groups. The group received four sessions. Templer Rosenberg scale completed by samples before after intervention. Data analysis was performed using independent t test, Chi-square, Fisher exact tests. significance level is considered less than 0.05. Results: Mean±SD ages 32.8±6.39 35.1±8.35 years, respectively. scores 12.27±0.85 11.8±0.88 not significantly different. After intervention, difference 12.10±0.61 interventional 8.13±0.71 statistically significant (P=0.001). 14.63±1.51 15.5±1.5 14.67±1.9 18.03±1.85 results ANCOVA demonstrated a groups terms (F=6.41, P=0.014, partial Eta2=0.101) (F=13.079, P=0.001, Eta2=0.187) Conclusion: Since reduced their increased self-esteem, simple low-cost be recommended for those suffering from disease.
